Tell us about your new job and what the new position entails? As President, Automotive, I will have the privilege of leading the Automotive business area within SKF, an operating unit with a turnover of approximately SEK 25 billion in 2022 that sells customized bearings, seals and related products for applications for e-drivetrain, wheel-end, drivetrain, engine, suspension and steering. This is a global responsibility and includes responsibility for sales, product customization and significant operations (manufacturing facilities, supply chain management).
What challenges are you facing? The automotive industry is in the transition from cars with combustion engines to electric, self-driving cars and partly also very new distribution models. For this major technological transition, new solutions are needed and all industry players must be highly innovative to be on the winning side. Very good work and a very solid foundation has been laid at SKF and the team I am joining. Remaining highly relevant in this rapidly changing market and thereby ensuring further profitable growth is the task I am very much looking forward to tackling with my new team.
What do you do to get energy at work and in your free time? At work, I get my energy from colleagues who are passionate about their work, are curious to try new paths and have the attitude to constantly improve so that together we become better and stronger. At home, I enjoy spending time with my family (husband and three teenagers as well as a cat, a dog and 2 horses), enjoying Sweden's fantastic nature while hiking or running or just reading my beloved German newspapers.
